Why am I so drawn to abandoned cities?

It's probably strange, but I thought about them. About them. Cities that are left without people. I have a small collection of paintings and various prints at home with images of strange places. I especially like wall art in the form of posters. They have such mysterious and gloomy walls, as if they themselves are keeping secrets.

What I like about it...

Each such poster or painting says something of its own. For example, one of my favorite paintings is an old abandoned factory. Seeing it on a canvas print is like plunging into another time. I have such a poster hanging right on the wall in my living room. It seems to me that it adds... well, some kind of special atmosphere, or something. I imagine how life was once in full swing there, but now everything has frozen in silence.

And it is always interesting what happened. Who lived there, worked there? Such questions arise when you look at something like this on the wall. And there is something exciting in the process itself. To fill your space with such unusual art...

  • Adds mystery.
  • Creates coziness.
  • Inspires thought.

And yes, to be honest... sometimes it is just nice to get distracted and think about something distant, strange. Although I have bright paintings, such moments when you want something hidden. Art, especially wall art, I think helps to cope with this.

A poster on the wall can tell a story... More importantly, it touches you. Fills you with something new. And there are so many such stories that there are enough for many prints and paintings. I don’t even know how it will all end, but for now I am just enjoying the journey through abandoned corners right from home. After all, each poster is a small door into this mysterious world.
